Vancouver to Lake Louise

In Stanley park at Vancouver - Drew thinks he's a totem pole.

Butchard Gardens on Vancouver Island was a photographers paradise but we thought we'd only publish 2 here so you don't fall asleep. Unfortunately the hat which was a favourite momento of Jaiselmere in India was lost later in the trip.

We were lucky to spot a female black bear and her 2 cubs on Vancouver Island near Uclulet.

Liz and Allan, our friends from the cruise had an amazing place on Vancouver island where they could gaze out over the water, sometimes watching the cruise ships sail past and a lovely garden where the deer grazed and the bald eagles soared overhead.

In the Okanaghan Valley we actually visited the "Soaring Eagle" winery, where the garden was beautiful, the view of the lake spectacular and the wines pretty good too. A great place for lunch as I recall.

In Yoho National Park (one of the 4 national parks in the Canadian Rockies we whiked from our campsite at Kicking Horse and watched one of the many mile long freight trains slowly roll past. "You can't sit on that station Chris!!!"

We took a bus to Beautiful Lake Ohara and walked to Lake Oessa mainly hiking through the snow (our sandshoes weren't the best choice of footware but the only choice.

At Lake Oessa we sat and enjoyed watching and listening to one avalanche after another
